Importance of intentions in your work

I personally think that projects are that work that needs to be done not because you want your marks for the project. If you are a engineer and you have that definition in your mind about projects then it is more better for you that more earlier you remove that thing from your mind. Because if you are in undergrad phase of your being an engineer journey and you still think of how to grab more marks just for the sake of pleasing your parents or your batch mates then you are missing many things in your undergrad life. Basically what I am trying to convey is, if you are in that part of your life where you can take risks and still you don't want one then you are wasting your life of being an creative or rather a really successful engineer.
Try to be creative when you are thinking of the project, don't be confined to only one or more definition that your professors or seniors have told you. Try to think out of the box and also if you are copying someone else's project then try to remove the disadvantages of that project and then implement it in your version of the project. Even if you are not able to accomplish your goal of invention or removing disadvantage of the project then don't be scared of marks, Professor always sees your effort towards your work, he/she is not looking for completed projects. I have seen that almost every student think that what if we won't be able to complete the project on time and we will not get marks. Try to think the other part too, what if you are able to accomplish the thing that you really want to do. Always try to be positive in any phase of your work/life. Don't be scared of what ifs. Remove all your what ifs from your mind and force your mind to think that you will be able to do it, if not now then very soon but you will do it.
Long and short of the story is try to clear you intentions or even your vision. Try to think in direction of practical life. And at-last you will be happy only when what you think, what you speak, and what you do, all becomes the same, as said by the father of our nation i.e. Mahatma Gandhi.
